The mission of the Borderlands committee is to identify, collect and preserve artifacts of local interest so they can be displayed, on loan, along with photos and copies of letters and various maps. Reference books can also be made available for public interest. We wish to compile, document and then share with the public a much overlooked and almost forgotten heritage. We are developing an interpretive exhibit detailing the people, events and places of local interest that occurred during the era of the American Civil War, establish a presence on the world wide web for this information and develop and promote heritage tourism throughout the Upper Cumberland region.
